Alicia Hunt's (Jerry Hall) mask from Tim Burton's Batman. Hunt cheated on her crime boss lover Carl Grissom (Jack Palance) with his right-hand man, Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson). After falling into a vat of chemicals and becoming the Joker, Napier disfigured Hunt with sulfuric acid to make her a "living work of art," forcing her to wear an unsettling mask to conceal her scarred features.
Credited with launching the modern era of superhero cinema, Batman dominated the box office during the summer of 1989, earned an Academy Award® for Best Art Direction-Set Direction, and shattered merchandising records. The film remains one of the most influential and celebrated live-action interpretations of the Dark Knight.
The mask is made of resin with a soft orange chiffon inlay, and is designed to resemble the face of a porcelain doll. A thin gold wash is applied to give it a worn, haunted appearance. Both of the mask's temple areas feature a small hole through which a piece of ribbon is threaded, allowing it to be worn securely. Darker patches in the chiffon inlay indicate the presence of makeup residue.
Also included is a printed production still of Hunt's mask. The mask shows evidence of intentional production distressing together with wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age, including glue residue in the inlay. Dimensions: (mask) 7.75" x 5.5" x 3.25" (20 cm x 14 cm x 8.5 cm)
Estimate: $10,000 - 20,000
