Batman's (Robert Pattinson) Batarang from Matt Reeves' The Batman. During the film’s climax, Batman used his Batarang to cut a live electrical cable that threatened the citizens sheltering inside Gotham Square Garden.
In The Batman, the Batarang also doubled as Batman's chest emblem when clipped into his suit, uniquely combining the most iconic element of Batman's costume with his most renowned accessory. Following the film's innovative secondary-use of the chest emblem, a chest-mounted batarang would later appear in the 2024 VR game Batman: Arkham Shadow and the 2024 Eisner Award®-nominated comic series (and upcoming animated adaptation) Absolute Batman features a chest emblem that detaches to form the head of a battle axe.
Amongst its many accolades, The Batman was nominated for three Academy Awards®. The Batman was the first film in the cinematic universe known as the "Batman Epic Crime Saga," a DC Elseworlds universe that stands apart from the central DC Universe (DCU). A critically-acclaimed spin-off television series, The Penguin, debuted on HBO in late 2024 and a sequel, The Batman: Part II, is scheduled for release in 2027.
Of all the weapons and gadgets in Batman's arsenal, none is more famous than his signature Batarang. First appearing in Detective Comics No. 31 in September 1939, the Batarang has appeared prominently in comics, films, television series, video games, figures and more for over 85 years.
This Batarang originates from the Warner Bros. Archive, giving it impeccable provenance as one of the very few items from the film to be released to collectors from the Archives. It is made of resin and hand-painted to resemble metal. It has been intentionally distressed to appear scratched and well-used, and shows evidence of wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age. Dimensions: 0.5" x 13.25" x 3" (1.5 cm x 33.5 cm x 7.5 cm)
Additional Provenance: Certificate of Authenticity from the Warner Bros. Archive.
