Remote-controlled Carmen and Wheems Fix-It models from the production of Matthew Robbins' *batteries not included. A pair of small mechanical alien lifeforms, one known as "Carmen", took up residence in a building facing demolition. Later, after they were discovered by the residents, Carmen produced three little Fix-Its, where the last made and smallest of them did not make it, until resident janitor Harry (Frank McRae) brought him back to life. Wheems (also known as "Little Guy") and his family helped restore the building to its former glory.
Originating from a source close to production, this lot consists of two models built from plastic and resin with metal detailing for production, but ultimately unfinished and unused in the final cut. Both are inset with simple 1980s-era electronics, likely installed after filming, for moving the Fix-Its' heads, and hand-painted after production for display.
Following production, the models underwent sympathetic restoration to return functionality to the electronics. Also included are individual remote controls (one black, for Carmen, and one yellow, for Wheems) which respectively allow Carmen's head to move up and down and Wheems to move forward and backward on wheels (though Wheems never used wheels in the film). The models show wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age. Dimensions: (largest) 11.5" x 10.75" x 3" (29.25 cm x 27 cm x 7.75 cm)
Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.
Estimate: $3,000 - 6,000
