A final advance movie poster hand-painted by American artist Drew Struzan from the production of William Dear's family comedy Harry and the Hendersons. This artwork was used for the film’s US one-sheet poster campaign and was later reproduced for the 4K Blu-ray release.
Rendered in mixed media on an illustration board, the artwork depicts a splintered wall being grasped by a pair of Bigfoot hands, with the Seattle skyline visible in the background. The illustration board is securely mounted to a foam board backing; the reverse is inscribed in black marker "Harry and the Hendersons" and bears Struzan's copyright stamp dated "Dec 1 1986." Struzan has signed the artwork in pencil in the lower right corner.
Struzan was responsible for some of the most iconic film artwork ever created, producing celebrated posters for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Shawshank Redemption, Back to the Future, Blade Runner, and numerous entries in the Star Wars saga. Over the course of his career, he created artwork for more than 150 film posters, as well as countless book covers, album sleeves, and other illustrations. Harry and the Hendersons itself earned the Academy Award® for Best Makeup, recognizing the groundbreaking creature effects that brought its Bigfoot character to life.
The foam board exhibits indentations and scratches. Dimensions: 34.25" x 22" x 0.25" (87 cm x 56 cm x 0.5 cm)
Sold without copyright; see copyright notice in the Terms and Conditions.
