An ottoman monster puppet from Jim Henson's The Muppet Show. In the Season 1 episode "Episode 119: Vincent Price," man was eaten alive by his living room, including his bloodthirsty ottoman chair, during a special spooky "Muppet News Flash" of furniture turning into monsters.
Under Henson's leadership, The Muppet Show presented itself as a variety show with recurring sketches and numbers alongside ongoing plot lines with running gags. Known for its unique character design and surreal humor, The Muppet Show became popular amongst audiences and even had a rotating slate of celebrity guest stars. Over the course of its run, it won three BAFTA® , four Emmys®, and a Peabody Award®. Episode 119, which guest-starred genre legend Vincent Price, featured monsters, ghosts, bats, vampires, and spooky situations in honor of the Master of Horror himself.
This vintage puppet is made of foam with flocking. It features white plastic eyes with felt pupils and an internal eye mechanism that simulates blinking by a pull string, as well as a hand-controlled moveable mouth with foam fangs.
