A Slim Klown head casting made using original molds from the production of Stephen Chiodo's Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Slim and his fellow extraterrestrial creatures, all resembling clowns with large monstrous heads, descended on the town of Crescent Cove, California to harvest the locals' blood. Slim - the most frequently seen Klown in the film - was considered one of the main antagonists and a step above most of his Klown brethren. Several background Klown heads were additionally cast from Slim's mold.
Produced by director Stephen Chiodo with his brothers, Charles and Edward, all experts in special effects, the cult classic horror-comedy film was celebrated for its groundbreaking practical effects, most famously the animatronic costumes that brought the Klowns to life on screen. The Chiodos conceived the Klowns from the unsettling idea that one of the scariest things imaginable would be glancing over while driving down a dark highway and seeing a clown in the next car, a concept they later recreated in the film with Slim.
This lot consists of a foam latex casting of Slim's head and neck, without the hair, eyes, and teeth that would have been added later. It has some basic paint work applied, including white skin and red embellishments around the eyes, nose, cheeks, and lips. It was cast from the original production molds used to make the Slim head for the film. The lot shows evidence of wear consistent with handling and age; including cracking and crumbling throughout the foam latex. Dimensions: 10.25" x 17.5" x 11" (26 cm x 44.5 cm x 28 cm)
