Vincent Vega's (John Travolta) loafers from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. Hitman Vega wore his signature loafers while he and his partner, Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), sought the location of Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) on behalf of crime boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames).
Pulp Fiction was the top-grossing film at the US box office during its first weekend and became the tenth highest-grossing film of 1994, despite playing at significantly fewer theaters than any other film in the Top 20. Pulp Fiction was named Best Picture by more than seven prominent film critic associations, won the Palme d'Or at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for seven Academy Awards®: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Film Editing, and Best Screenplay - Written Directly for the Screen; winning the latter. Considered by many to be Tarantino's magnum opus, Pulp Fiction was selected in 2013 for preservation in the US National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
This lot consists of a pair of matching black leather Pierre Cardin Espace loafers with elevated rubber soles, brown leather interiors, and a metal front buckle. The shoes show evidence of wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age.
Additional Provenance: Letter of Authenticity from crew member.
