A pair of scripts with a collection of paperwork and photos from the production of the episodes "Nisei" and "731" of Chris Carter's television series The X-Files. The ninth and tenth episodes of Season 3 formed a two-part story in which Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigated a video of an alleged alien autopsy, uncovered a government conspiracy, and infiltrated a secret cargo train carrying a human-alien hybrid. For their work on "731," director of photography John Bartley earned an American Society of Cinematographers Award® nomination and director Rob Bowman secured the job of directing the first theatrical feature film based on the series.
The longest-running science fiction series in American television history, The X-Files was a hit for the Fox network and became a touchstone of 1990s pop culture. The franchise expanded to include two theatrical feature films, two spin-off series, two revival seasons, novels, comic books, video games, and an upcoming reboot series set to be produced by Ryan Coogler. Amongst the many accolades that the series earned over its original nine year run, the X-Files received 16 Emmy Awards® out of 62 nominations, five Golden Globe Awards® out of 12 nominations, two Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards® out of 14 nominations, and one Peabody Award® for being able "to convey ideas that are both entertaining and thought-provoking."
